PURPOSE:To improve the reproducing output characteristic of a magnetic head at a high frequency region, by providing a notch near a front gap of a reinforcing core clipping a main core from both sides and decreasing the total thickness around the front gap sliding to a magnetic medium together with the main core in comparison with that of adjacent parts. CONSTITUTION:One pair of reinforcing cores 2, 3 are arranged at both sides of the main core 1 made of ''Sendust'', nearly 30mum in total thickness 4. The total thickness of a part around a front gap 6 of an upper part 9 of the reinforcing cores 2, 3 is designed less than that of a region 13 being other adjacent part with a notch 12 prolonged downward from the tape contact surface, and the minimum total thickness 14 of the reinforcing cores 2, 3 by this notch 12 is designed as nearly 30mu. That is, the tape contact surface of this magnetic head is designed least around the front gap 6, the weight per unit area is increased, allowing to reduce the spacing loss at the gap 6. |
