PURPOSE:To improve dispersion of fuel into combustion chamber thus to achieve combustion of high air utilization and combustion efficiency, by reducing the diameter of injection port having axis directing toward outer circumference of combustion chamber while relatively increasing the diameter of injection port having axis directing toward central side. CONSTITUTION:The diameters of injection ports 09, 10, 11 are made such that d09<d10< d11 while the diameter is reduced gradually toward the outside injecting port for forming spray at the outer circumference of combustion chamber. When employing a fuel injection valve 22, sprays 23-25 will grow to three independent sprays where the outside spray 23 has weak penetrating force while inside spray 25 has strong penetrating force. Although the air eddy current S will function strong against the inside spray 25 while weak against the outside spray 23, the differential penetrating force will never cause bending of inside spray farther than the outside spray but cause same degree of bending or the inside spray will advance more linearly than the outside spray. Consequently the inside will collide against the opposite wall earlier than the outside. As a result, interference between sprays is reduced while air at the central portion of combustion chamber can also be utilized resulting in improvement of combustion efficiency. |
