PURPOSE:To handle efficiently and successively plural originals arranged in an original read area by providing a means for specifying plural original areas and a means for setting various control items according to the original areas. CONSTITUTION:A linear supporting body 20 is fixed to a flank of an original moving table 8, slidable position support knobs 22a-22d and a read start position indicator 21 are arranged on the linear support body 20, and body detectors 23 and 24 are arranged fixedly on the prolongation of a photoscanning position. The original area specifying device 1 like this is used to send a read start signal (m) from the body detector 23 to a control item setting part 2 when the detector passes by the read start position indicator 21, and further an original end signal (n) is sent to the setting part 2 every time the detector passes by the knobs 22a, 22b, 22c, or 22d. |
