The invention produces a marking pole or slalom port peg comprising an anchoring part 2, a spring 4 and a peg 5. The spring 4 is secured to the anchoring part 2 and the peg 5 is inserted to a predetermined distance into the spring 4 so as to be held therein by friction. The anchoring part 2 is intended to be driven fully into the ground or snow. When running against it, the peg 5 is protected by the spring 4, which is situated by around half its length above the ground or snow surface, the peg 5 bends, after which the spring part 4 lifts the peg 5 back up to its original position without anyone being required to set up the peg again.
