Illustrated and described is a profiled wooden board with a substantially rectangular cross-section, on one longitudinal edge of which a groove-shaped recess is formed and on the other longitudinal edge of which a projection ("tongue") corresponding to the groove-shaped recess is formed, in particular for lining walls in interior work, with a front side and a rear side, at least one longitudinal groove being provided on the rear side of the profiled wooden board, and furthermore the cross-sectional area of the longitudinal groove (2) being chosen such that a relatively large cavity results between a wall to which the profiled wooden board (1) is to be attached and the profiled wooden board (1) in the region of the longitudinal groove (2) when the profiled wooden board (1) is used as intended. <IMAGE>
