PURPOSE:To bend a pipe to a specified correct angle at excellent work efficiency in bending an elastic pipe by detecting the amount of spring back of the bent pipe and correcting said pipe to a specified bending angle by driving a servomotor basing on the result of detection. CONSTITUTION:A pressure die 5, a booster clamp 6 and a clamp die 3 in a pipe bending machine are brought to a clamping state, and clamped after setting a blank pipe 2. Then, a hydraulic servomotor 17 rotates a rotary die 13 by an angle setting signal from a microcomputer 23 and at the same time, it rotates a clamp die 4A to bend the pipe 2. The amount of spring back of the pipe is detected by a sensor 18. This amount is calculated by the microcomputer 23, and the corrected bending angle corresponding to the amount of spring back is calculated. This result is supplied to the hydraulic servomotor 17 and it is rotated further from a normal position by the corrected angle, and bending is performed accurately to the specified bending angle. |
