Hydraulically actuated cutter holder for a reel slitting machine for longitudinally dividing material webs of paper, foil or the like by shearing, having an adjustable cutter carrier (1) which is fixed, for lowering, on a non-rotatably guided piston rod (4), aligned transversely to the adjustment direction (3), of a lowering piston-cylinder unit, the piston rod (4) being connected to means (18) for limiting the lowering stroke and to means for setting the pitch of the cutter (2). For this purpose a guide member (19) having at least one axially aligned guide surface is fixed to the piston rod (4), and a guide housing (22) having at least one guide surface (24) assigned to the guide member (19) is arranged in the region of the guide member (19), which guide housing is rotatable about the axis (20) of the piston rod (4) and is connected to the cylinder (6) so as to be lockable thereon. <IMAGE>
