PURPOSE:To prevent the ends of a platen glass from being copied as a shadow during scanning of an original by enlarging the platen glass beyond the region of original scanning and arranging a gate on the enlarged platen glass. CONSTITUTION:An enlarged region 3a having X in width beyond the original scanning region on the platen glass 3 and a registration gate 7 is installed on the enlarged region 3a. The original 11 fed with an original feeder is moved in the arrow direction with a transport belt 6, its end is brought into contact with the stopper 7b of the gate 7 to stop the original at the right position. When original scanning is executed at that time, the ends of the platen glass are not copied as a shadow. When the end signal of the original scanning is sent to a controller 20, the gate 7 is released, and the belt 6 is again driven to eject the original 11. |
