METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRACING CONTOUR LINE

PURPOSE:To prevent possible errors in the accuracy by a method wherein a visible convergent beam enters the center axis of a prism and forms a scanning line on a template depicting a circular path with the rotation of the prism to enable a visual observation of the position in tracing a contour line. CONSTITUTION:An oscillation signal of an oscillator 13 for generation of revolutions is applied to a DC motor 2 through a motor synchronization circuit 14 and a prism 6 connected to the motor 2 rotated at specified revolutions. On the other hand, a convergent light source 11 which forms a visible light source through an aperture mechanism enters the prism 6 at the right angle thereto passing through an induction tube 4 and a circular path 11a is depicted on a template 12 with the rotation of the prism 6 and a scan line 11a forms a circumferentially rotating circle 11a by having a tracing head 1 following a contour line 12a. This always enables visual observation of the position of tracing the contour line thereby facilitate the discovery of malfunctioning of a tracer and an easy detection of light received can minimize errors in the accuracy.
