PURPOSE:To prevent surely an overflow of a molten material to the outside of a crucible with simple constitution by detecting a bath level by utilizing a back pressure of an inert gas supplied into a furnace. CONSTITUTION:A material to be treated is supplied into the crucible 1 from above thereof through a feeder from a supply source, and a microwave is irradiated thereto to heat and melt said material successively. During this operation, the inert gas is supplied continuously and intermittently into the crucible 1 from a cylinder 5 through a piping 4 and a passage 2. If the bath level of the molten material rised and reaches a detecting surface 7, an opening hole part 3 is clogged, and thereby, the back pressure in the piping 4 is raised. This signal is transferred to an detection unit 60 through a branch pipe 6 and arrival of the bath level at the detecting surface is detected, the supply source is controlled by this detection signal, and the supply of the material to be treated is stopped. |
