PURPOSE:To prevent the reduction of sodium hypochlorite, by electrolyzing salt water providing the anode and cathode plates opposing each other in extremely narrow specific space and flowing the electrolyte by adding a higher pressure than the flow of the electrolyte by generated hydrogen gas. CONSTITUTION:The anode 1 made of salt resistance electrode flat board, such as graphite, PbO2, etc. and the cathode 2, such as iron, titanium, etc., are provided in the electrolytic bath 3 so as to be 0.1-1mm. space. Electrolyte (sea water) is introduced into the bath 3 by the introducing pipe 4 and is electrolyzed and then hydrogen gas is generated and at the same time, aqueous solution containing chlorine (sodium hypochlorite), is taken out from the takeout pipe 5. At this time, the electrolyte is sent to the bath 3 by the pump 6 by >=5kg/cm<2> pressure higher than the pressure of generated hydrogen gas and >=30cm/sec flowing speed is used. Hereby, the aqueous solution containing chlorine, is sent out of the bath 3 without suffering the reduction nearly and electrolysis of a low voltage between electrodes and high current density, is made possible. |
