PURPOSE:To enhance slidability by forming a silver halide emulsion layer and a nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer as the outermost layer contg. spherical organic particles specified in size. CONSTITUTION:A nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer is formed on one side of a support as the outermost layer contg. fine spherical org. particles having 1.5-2.5 average particle diameter and >=95% frequency rate of <=4mum diameter. Said particles are, e.g., those of a spherical high molecular compound prepared by suspension polymn. or a high molecular compound sphered by spray drying or the like, and polymethyl methacrylate is specifically preferable. Such a silver halide photosensitive material can be improved in surface physical properties, especially slidability, without deteriorating various properties, such as antitackiness and transparency, and therefore, abrasion traces, etc., of the surface due to contacts and frictions caused in the stages of its manufacture and use can be reduced and pressure fog, desensitization, etc. in the stage of forming an image can be prevented.
