PURPOSE:To uniformly fill battery paste in a grid by compressing a plate with a set of rollers having a lower roller on which a concavity slightly narrow than width of the grid is installed on its surface and convexities are installed in the center of the concavity. CONSTITUTION:A grid 2 is transferred on a belt conveyor 6 and filled with a paste filling machine 3 to form a plate 4. The plate 4 is transferred on a conveyor 6 and a small roller 7 and compressed with rollers 5 and 5', then transferred on a small roller 7' and a chain conveyor 8 and supplied to a drying furnace 9. A concavity 10 slightly narrow than width of a grid is installed on the roller 5' which is in contact with the surface opposed to the surface filled with paste and several convexities 11 are installed in the concavity 10. The convexities 11 prevent the curvature of the grid 2. The plate manufactured by using the rollers 5 and 5' has a grid 2 whose both sides are uniformly filled with paste 1. Thereby, defective plates in assembly of a battery are decreased and charge performance of the battery is increased. |
