The vessel and casing are completely surrounded by an outer container or protective envelope supported by a base. Underneath the vessel there is a supporting wall. The envelope and supporting wall form an insulating space. There spaces are filled with a thermal insulator e.g. perlite. In a fire the vessel is protected because first the envelope has to melt down and the adjacent insulations damaged. |
