PURPOSE:To easily recover the undischarged state of ink by a method in which a head is rotatably provided to the upside of a carriage, and a suction pump to recover the undischarged state of ink is provided near the home position and connected with the head. CONSTITUTION:When undischarged state of a head 5 is confirmed and a recovery button 9 is pushed, printing operation is discontinued, a carriage 1 is moved to its home position, and the position is detected by a detection switch 7. A rotary base 4 is turned, the direction of the head 5 is turned toward a suction pump 6 side, the carriage 1 is further moved to the suction pump 6, and the connecting portion 6a of the suction pump 6 is connected with the head 5. Suction is made for a given period of time, recovery action of the undischarged state is made, the carriage 1 is restored to the home position, the head 5 is turned and set back, and the carriage 1 is restored to the printing operation state. The recovery operation of undischarged state of ink can thus be made by the simple structure. |
