PURPOSE:To prolong the useful life of a ribbon for printing and enable to print in multiple colors, by constituting a multicolor ink ribbon by providing different colors symmetrically on upper and lower sides with a center line of an ink ribbon formed in a Mobius loop form as the axis of symmetry. CONSTITUTION:The ink ribbon 1 for a printer which ribbon is formed in a Mobius loop form is divided evenly into four sections in the width direction thereof, upper and lower 1/4-width sections are colored in black or red, while a central 1/2-width section is colored in red or black, whereby red color and black color are provided symmetrically on upper and lower sides with the center line of the ribbon 1 as the axis of symmetry. In this case, when the ribbon is so colored that the area of the black section is 2 times of that of the red section, a bicolor ink ribbon most suitable for red-black bicolor printing can be obtained. Accordingly, the arrangement of each of the colors is not changed even when the ribbon is turned face side back, and by combining the ink ribbon with a conventional multicolor color-changing mechanism, it is possible to prolong the useful life of the ribbon for printing through using the face and back sides of the ribbon and to print in multiple colors. |
