PURPOSE:To display an optional part of the planar information such as a map, etc. and at the same time to shift freely the display position without increasing the information record/transmission rate of a disk having concentric or spiral information store tracks. CONSTITUTION:The 1st information store part has plural pairs of adjacent tracks (k) which store a piece of square picture information among those obtained by dividing the planar picture information, e.g., a map 1, etc. into (NXM) units of square gatherings. The 2nd information store part has (NXn) units of tracks in the track crossing direction as well as toward the track circumference at (MX theta) angle, where the (MXtheta) angle <=360 is satisfied. In the 2nd information store part, a piece of square picture information is stored in a fan-shaped area of (n) track of theta angle. This information is recorded so as to hold the same relative relation with the overall picture information. In other words, a disk 2 contains a map different from the map 1 at parts M1-M4 in the same recording pattern. The part M4, for example, is divided into six areas A-F. Thus an optional part of the planar information like a map, etc. can be displayed. Furthermore the display position can be freely shifted without increasing the information record/transmission rate of the disk. Thus this method can be applied to a drive navigator, etc. |
