PURPOSE:A dispersing agent for a mixed coal and oil, containing an alkylene oxide compound (derivative) of a polymer, containing amino groups, etc., and having a hydrocarbon as a backbone chain as an essential component, and capable of imparting a high dispersion stability for a long period. CONSTITUTION:A dispersing agent containing (A) an alkylene oxide adduct (derivative) having amino or amide groups having active hydrogen atoms in the side chain thereof, and having a hydrocarbon as a backbone chain, preferably ethylene oxide or propylene oxide, as an essential component. The above-mentioned dispersing agent in an amount of usually 0.03-5wt%, preferably 0.05- 0.15wt% based on a mixed coal and oil is added thereto.
