PURPOSE:To reproduce easily and satisfactorily the sounds of different data quantities to a still picture by writing the information needed for error correction of an interleave system, the track number information, etc. to the head of each track of sound signals. CONSTITUTION:The sound signal track is scanned with a head 17 which is shifted to the position corresponding to a still picture of a disk 11 designated by a keyboard 10. The header information on the track number, etc., the error correction information of an interleave system, etc. are written to the head of the sound signal track. Thus a muting circuit 25 is opened with the header reproduction information, and at the same time the contents of sound reproduction are written to a memory 33 for alteration of time axis. Then the circuit 25 is closed in response to the reading of the trailer mark of a frame end. The still picture produced by the repetitive reproduction with the head 17 shifted to a video track are displayed to a monitor 28. At the same time, the sounds are produced synchronously with the still pictures by the read sound information given from the memory 33 which is corrected by the error correction information via a delay circuit 35. Then the sounds of different data quantities to the still picture can be reproduced easily and satisfactorily.
