Improved film for writing and printing is prepared from polyester composed of more than 70 % ethylene terephthalate by means of dispersive addition of an inorganic compd., such as by Al2O3, SiO2, CaCO3, or BaSO4, and sand-blasting the double-axis film surface with hard iron-oxide particles. Surface roughness, Ra, is 0.1-0.5 , and roughness density is more than 10 mm-1. A cross-section of the film, treated by sand blasting is described in the following figure, where A = treated surface; B = filler; and C = polyethylene terephthalate film.
