PURPOSE:To improve the production yield of a photosensitive body by discriminating the adequateness of selecium which is made amorphous as an evaporating source material for the photosensitive body according to whether the measured value of the volume resistivity of said selenium is within prescribed value or not. CONSTITUTION:A selenium material is made amorphous and the volume resistivity thereof is measured. The adequateness of said material as an evaporating source material for a photosensitive body is discriminated according to whether the value is within a prescribed range or not. A material having the volume resistivity ranging 1X10<14>-6X10<15>OMEGAcm is evaluated to be usable for a photosensitive body in the case of, for example, an Se/Te alloy contg. 5-6% tellurium. More specifically, a low-fatigue type photosensitive body is obtd. if a material having the volume resistivity ranging 1X10<14>-6X10<15>OMEGAcm is used as an evaporating source for an electrophotographic sensitive body using an Se/Te alloy contg. 5.5% Te. A sharp image is formed with such photosensitive body even if said body is repeatedly used and in addition said photosensitive body has a good zero graph characteristic. The similar correlation is obtd. between the volume resistivity and the characteristic of the photosensitive body with other Se alloys as wells. The evaluation as the evaporating source material for the photosensitive body is made possible and the yield is improved. |
