PURPOSE:To eliminate the crosstalk of reproduction signal produced between adjacent tracks despite use of an odd number of magnetic heads, by constituting all odd magnetic heads so as to have different azimuth angles between the 1st and 2nd magnetic heads. CONSTITUTION:The azimuth angle of a magnetic head H1 is set at -alpha together with the azimuth angles of a magnetic head H2 are set at +alpha and -alpha at the side adjacent to a magnetic track t11 and the other side respectively. Furthermore, the azimuth angle of a magnetic head H3 is set at +alpha. In this case, the alpha is properly defined in a range of 5-15 deg.. The figure shows the relationship among azimuth angles of magnetic tracks on a magnetic tape recorded by the heads H1-H3 having said azimuth angles. A recording track t12 formed by the magnetic flux of the head H2 is set so that the magnetizing direction is bent nearly at the center of the width of the magnetic track. Thus the azimuth angle is increased between tracks t11 and t13 adjacent to the track t12. As a result, the relative azimuth angles are increased among tracks t11-t13. This can suppress thus, the crosstalk produced to the reproduction signal is suppressed remarkably. |
