PURPOSE:To enable stable uncoiling, by providing phototubes for an upper and a lower limits to operate a pilot motor to increase or decrease the rotational frequency of an uncoiler. CONSTITUTION:When the continuous operation of an uncoiler 2 is started, the feed and cutoff of a material 1 and the rotation of a motor 21 are begun. The motor 21 is not stopped until the material held by the uncoiler 2 runs out. As the diameter of the coil of the material is reduced, the bottom of a curve 1a is lifted. When a phototube 23b for an upper limit is turned on, a pilot motor 20 is rotated to change the speed reduction ratio of a transmission 19 to increase the rotational frequency of the uncoiler 2. When the uncoiled quantity has exceeded the fed quantity for the cutoff of the material 1 due to the increase in the rotational frequency of the uncoiler 2, the bottom of the curve 1a descends so that light is intercepted from a phototube 22b for a lower limit. As a result, the pilot motor 20 is rotated in reverse to decrease the rotational frequency of the uncoiler 2. |
