PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to press the reset button of an electrophotographic copying machine which stops automatically once trouble occurs by resetting automatic stopping operation when trouble solving operation is performed as to trouble occurring in an option mechanism. CONSTITUTION:If trouble such as a paper jam occurs in the copying machine frame 100, a front door is opened to perform a trouble solving treatment such as paper removal, and then the reset button on the front surface of the main frame is pressed to reset the automatic stop state. If trouble occurs in an option mechanism which is connected to the copying machine frame 100 and controlled by the microcomputer in the main frame, a paper jam in a paper feed cassette 200 is removed, and the automatic stop state is reset on detecting the completion of a treatment such as the opening of an upper lid, so it is not necessary to reset the state by opening the front door of the copying machine frame 100. |
