PURPOSE:To prevent an operator from leaving an original on an exposure platen by generating warning in manual original replacement mode unless an original pressure plate is open for a specific time. CONSTITUTION:When an automatic original feed mode is selected and a sheet original is placed on a supply tray 20, a belt mechanism on the reverse surface of the original pressure plate 3 feeds the sheet original onto an exposure platen 2 automatically and a copy is taken. At this time, the original pressure plate 3 is held closed. When a manual original replacement mode is selected, the original pressure plate 3 is opened and closed manually and an original is placed on the exposure platen and taken away. It is judged that the original is left unless the original pressure plate 3 is opened for the specific time in manual original replacement mode, and warning of that is generated. When, however, the switching to the automatic original feed mode is performed, the original is discharged automatically, so no warning is generated. |
