PURPOSE:To improve productivity and to reduce cost by cooling the surface of a slab, obtained by pouring a molten steel into a mold wherein cladding materials are previously set, under the prescribed conditions and making its surface skin layers into a peeling state to easily remove the layers from the cladding material. CONSTITUTION:A molten steel used for a base material 3 is poured into a mold wherein cladding materials 2 are previously set, to cast them into one body. The cast hot slab 5 is cooled under the conditions of 800-1,000 deg.C surface temperature and >=0.05 deg.C/min cooling velocity. Then the surface skin layers 6 remaining on the slab surface, are made into the peeling state from the cladding materials 2 which are in contact with the layers 6. Next, the sticking end part is cut in the thickness direction at the position indicated by a dashed line, to peel off the skin layer 6. |
