An apparatus and a method for determining a placement of a tube are provided, the apparatus comprises a fluid discharge module for discharging fluid into a first end of the tube; a sensor module for capturing sound produced at an approximate vicinity of the second end of the tube; and a processing unit for processing the sound to obtain one or more parameters; said one or more parameters for determining the placement of the tube.
