EXAMPLE:1-Trifluoromethyl-1-buten-3-ol. USE:A compound exhibiting excellent physiological activity. A water and oil repellent. A synthetic intermediate of pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals. A raw material for the production of a fluorine-containing polymer. A raw material of various esters. The characteristic feature of the compound is the chiral nature of the C atom bonded with OH. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced by treating the unsaturated ketone of formula II substituted with a fluorine-containing aliphatic group with a microorganism (preferably baker's yeast). |
