Fully automatic or semi-automatic shift mechanism

In the case of a vehicle with an automatic transmission interrupting the flow of power the danger exists that in certain driving conditions, such as, for example, during an overtaking sequence or on a steep gradient an automatic shift will be undertaken in which during the interruption in the power flow a reduction of the power output of the engine or a failure of the engine braking then occurs. In order to avoid these situations an analysing circuit is provided for detecting driving conditions of the type mentioned. The driver can then suppress the triggering of automatic or manually controlled shift sequences in response to an appropriate display.
