an organic EL substrate that includes a first substrate and organic EL elements disposed on the first substrate; a color filter substrate that includes a second substrate and colored layers disposed on the second substrate; and a resin layer, wherein the organic EL substrate and the color filter substrate are adhered to each other via the resin layer such that the organic EL elements and the colored layers face each other, the color filter substrate further includes a moisture absorbent layer, the moisture absorbent layer being vapor-deposited on the colored layers, facing the resin layer, and containing magnesium oxide, and a temperature of the second substrate during vapor deposition of the moisture absorbent layer is 200 degrees Celsius or lower.
