POSITION DETECTING METHOD OF INTERIOR INSPECTOR FOR CRYOGENIC LIQUIDIZED GAS TANK

PURPOSE:To detect the position of inspector accurately under the state having no disturbance and reduced damping of signal by permeating light into a tank and obtaining information. CONSTITUTION:A self-travel system of an inspector A is placed in an adiabatic tank T to move the inspector A along the inner wall 1 of tank and to inspect the bottom board 1a of tank inner wall 1 for defect, thickness and visual abnormality. A position detector B is moved proper driver from a valve V1 to the inlet of adiabatic tank T. Said detector B will cause projection/receiving of light from the inspector A against the light reflecting section 4 thus to detect the position of said inspector A.
