In the device for producing a fabric selvedge provided with a binding, reciprocally movable heald frames are provided, there being arranged on each heald frame, by means of a stand (4, 5), a plurality of warp-yarn holders (6, 7, 8, 9 or 17, 18, 19, 20), the ends of which are at a distance (10) from one another in the stroke direction in one end position of the heald frames for the purpose of forming a shed. The stand for the warp-yarn holders has guide means (13, 15, 16) for the lateral removal of the warp yarns assigned to these warp-yarn holders. Furthermore, a binding-yarn holder (26) for the binding yarn joining the warp yarns is provided and is made movable transversely relative to the shed. Arranged in the region of the binding point of the warp yarns is a pivotable reed which is designed as a comb. <IMAGE>
