The reseating accuracy of metal-sealed vacuum valves is decisive for their leaktightness in the case of frequent operation of the valve. The mediocre quality of the guidance for actuating devices and the change in the shape of the spring structures involved in the guidance of the plunger produces eccentric impressions of the sealing bezel in the valve disc in the event of heating. In order to avoid this, the sealing member is guided independently of the actuating device by a spring joint which is extremely stiff in the closed condition and provides accurate guidance. In the open condition, the spring joint simultaneously ensures that the valve disc lifts off from the annular bezel.
