The invention relates to machines for harvesting beet. According to the invention, a turbine mud-removing device for these machines essentially consists of a plurality of elastic bars 7 fixed to a flexible drive member 8, 8% in order to constitute an open conveyor belt 2, the conveyor belt being held above a turbine 3 in a plane substantially perpendicular to the plane of the latter, a lower edge 10 of the said belt consisting of one end of the bars moving approximately from the centre of the turbine to beyond its periphery; each turbine is preferably equipped with a mud-removing device. <IMAGE>
