The present invention relates to a device for centering and conveying of preferably round timber. The device consists of four identical conveyor rolls (13, 14, 15, 16) disposed symmetrically around the centre of the device, which can be pivoted into and away from the centre about a respective rotational axis (17, 18, 19, 20) and about a respective pivot axis (29, 30, 31, 32) parallel to the conveying direction. The conveyor rolls (13 to 16) each have a cylindrical lateral surface and their pivot axes (29 to 32) intersect the rotational axes. The conveyor rolls are coupled together by means of lever rods (33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38) and joints (39, 40, 41) for simultaneous pivoting about the pivot axes. In a plane through the rotational axes (17 to 20) of the conveyor rolls, the angle ( alpha ) between the generatrix (43) of each conveyor roll and a line (44) between the pivot axis of each conveyor roll and the end of the generatrix facing away from the pivot axis is 15 DEG to 35 DEG . <IMAGE> |
