According to the principle of the method, the bottles are brought in in a rotating barrel with step-by-step movement and the bottles immobilised in a barrel are measured by virtue of feeler means integral with means for sending pulses as a function of a movement, the latter being connected to calculation and control means. The apparatus essentially comprises, within its housing: means of conveying the bottles of the step-by-step barrel type; means of identification of the bottles with a feeler which is integral with a means of sending pulses as a function of a movement; means of monitoring the weight of the bottles; means of routing the latter; calculation and control means with a memory as well as data display and totalling. <IMAGE>
