Calcium chloride-contg. cement for low temp. use - with a sepn. of clinker into two size fractions prior to desalting using flue gases

Cement is produced from a CaCl2-contg. raw material mixt. by grinding, firing at 1000 degrees-1100 degrees C to from the clinker, commination of the clinker at 900 degrees-1100 degrees C, desalting of the clinker at a temp of 900 degrees-1000 degrees C by bringing the clinker into contact with a stream of hot flue gases, followed by colling and further commination. Prior to desalting the clinker is fed into a stream of flue gases at a rate of 6-30 m/sec. and at 1000 degrees-1100 degrees C to separate the clinker into two fractions: one contg. particles of size 3-20 mm and the other contg. particles of size 0.1-3 mm. The sepd. fractions are then desalted. The presence of 10-20 wt.% of fine particles in the clinker with a size of 3mm reduces the permeability of the heat carrier in the clinker layer which reduces the efficiency of the desalting process. Sepn. of the fractions overcomes this problem.
