PURPOSE:To check vibration of the linear cathode by supporting the linear cathode as an electron beam source of a picture display element through plural supports having smaller height than a pitch of an electron beam pass hole of an electron beam taking out means. CONSTITUTION:A picture display element is formed of a rear electrode 1, the linear cathode 2 as a beam source, vertical and horizontal focusing electrodes 3 and 6, a control electrode 5, vertical and horizontal deflection electrodes 4 and 7, an acceleration electrode 8 and a screen plate 9. Thereby, the electrode 33 of the electron beam taking out means is provided with plural supports 35 having the smaller height than a pitch of its electron beam pass hole 34 for supporting the linear cathode 32 at its both ends and by making it to be in contact with the supports 35 in order to oppose it to the rear electrode 31. Accordingly, generation of vibration of the linear cathode 32 itself due to external impact or change of a heater current can be checked while being able to take out always a stable electron beam. |
