PURPOSE:To enhance photoconductivity and fixability in a simplified process low in cost by drying a mixture obtained by dispersing a photoconductor and a thermoplastic material into a water-soluble solvent. CONSTITUTION:A dispersion of a photoconductor, such as phthalocyanine type pigments, a combination of an inorg. photoconductor, e.g., ZnO or TiO, and a dye, e.g., fluorescein or rose Bengal, or each of them alone, in an aq. soln. is mixed with a dispersion of a thermoplastic resin, such as polystyrene or (meth) acrylic resin, in an aq. soln., and dried. A preferable size of dispersed particles in a dispersed phase is an order of 10-2,000nm, and the max. size is, preferably, <=30mum. The aq. soln. used for the dispersion medium contains >=50wt% water and other plural components. The use of such a dispersion medium causes no environmental pollution problem even if a solvent recovery unit is not especially built. |
