PURPOSE:To obtain an electrostatic latent image developing toner superior in resistance to PVC, as well as fixability, triboelectrifiability, and thermal storage stability by using a thermoplastic resin having functional groups on the side chains prepared by adding a styrene resin up to a prescribed limit to an acrylic resin to give a specified mol.wt. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic latent image developing toner contains a colorant and a thermoplastic resin having a melt index of >=9.00 and a gelation concn. of >=10wt% consisting of a homopolymer or copolymer composed of structural units, each represented by formula I (R1 is H or methyl, and R2 is H or <=3C alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, aminoalkyl, or glycidyl), and a homo or random copolymer having a number average mol.wt. of 9,000-30,000 and at least one kind of functional groups, such as carboxy, amino, hydroxy, or glycidyl, on the side chains, and contg. <=50wt% structural units, each represented by formula II, R3 being H or methyl. |
