PURPOSE:In preparing the titled compound useful as a raw material for drugs, agricultural chemicals, etc. by hydrogenating tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol with ammonia, to improve yield, by carrying out hydrogenation in the presence of a specific catalyst in a liquid phase. CONSTITUTION:Tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol as a raw material is hydrogenated with ammonia in the presence of a cobalt base catalyst in a liquid base, to give the titled compound. Practical operation of a batch type or continuous type reaction can be used as the reaction. Raney cobalt or reducing cobalt is preferable as the example of the cobalt base catalyst. An amount of the catalyst used is 0.001-0.5, preferably 0.01-0.3 the weight of the raw material. An amount of ammonia used is 1.0-20mol, preferably about 1.0-10mol based on 1mol raw material. A solvent may be used in the reaction and an amount of it used is preferably 0.5-10 times as much as the amount of the raw material. |
