Device for immobilising vehicles temporarily over an area for the distribution and sale of fuel provided with at least one distribution lane associated with distribution means, the device being intended to control the departure of the said vehicles and being of the type comprising at least one barrier which is movable between a retracted position allowing the passage of the vehicle, and a spread position preventing the movement of the latter. According to the invention, the device is noteworthy in that it comprises at least two retractable barriers 17, 18 placed, respectively, at the front and rear limits of the location of the stationary vehicle 15, in order to prevent, in their active position, the departure of the vehicle in either direction, mechanical means for operating and actuating the said barriers moving them simultaneously and in the same direction, and means for remote control from a control station 16.
