PURPOSE:To facilitate positioning which requires high precision and to improve efficiency greatly by performing light irradiation by using an optical fiber positioned opposite the optical fiber element wire end surface of a ferrule where a transparent elastic body containing an optical reactive refractive index adjusting monomer is fitted. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber element wire 2 is inserted into the ferrule 1 and adhered and fixed with an adhesive 3, and the transparent elastic body 6 containing an optically reactive refractive index adjusting monomer is provided to the ferrule end surface part 5 including an optical fiber element wire end surface part 4 obtained by polishing or cutting an optical fiber element wire end. Then, another optical fiber 8 which is set opposite the ferrule 1 previously and guides light from a light source 7 so as to perform light irradiation is positioned by a positioning jig 9 from the side of the ferrule end surface part 5, thereby performing the light irradiation through the optical fiber 8. Consequently, a core part 10 with a high refractive index and a clad part 11 having a lower refractive index than the core part 10 are formed in the elastic body 6. |
