The invention, pertaining to sanitation, enables elderly persons and those having reduced mobility to step into their bath with ease and to sit down on an adjoining seat. Its skeleton 1, made of welded tubular steel, is coated with an anticorrosion coating, followed by a white lacquer. Its step 2 and its seat 3 are formed by four fir cleats assembled at each end on an asymmetrical corner bar 4. An adjustment system 5 allows adaptation to bathtubs of various widths. Another adjustment system 6 makes it possible to adjust the apparatus with respect to height. A fastening system 7 makes it possible to lock the apparatus on the bathtub. <IMAGE>
