<p>Hydraulically damped mechanism for closing a door comprises a coil spring 3 and a shock-absorbing piston and cylinder 5 assembly arranged coaxially in a casing 1 and a camshaft or crankshaft having pins 8 extending transversely of the casing between the spring and shock absorber assembly and connected outside the casing to an arm which attaches at 25 for connection to the door, the shaft being rotatable in one direction by the arm, in response to opening of the door, to compress the spring and being rotatable in the opposite direction by the spring to operate on the arm to close the door and to exert pressure on the fluid in the shock- absorber assembly. <IMAGE></p> |
