The invention relates to a bullet-proof multilayer material, which is characterised by low weight whilst still having high bullet resistance. To this end the following structure is provided: a substrate layer (1) is covered by individual bodies (2) disposed adjacent to each other and, if required, superimposed on each other, which are made of a material of which the hardness is greater than that of the substrate layer (1), the bodies (2) being substantially embedded on all sides in a synthetic resin layer (4), which simultaneously adheres firmly to the substrate layer (1). <IMAGE>
