PURPOSE:To prevent a dot pattern formed of fine light emission points from appearing on a body surface by arranging a phase structure body between a light source consisting of a number of arrayed fine light emission points and a body as to the optical lighting system for the endoscope. CONSTITUTION:The phase structure body 5 provided with a number of phase parts 5a in a dop shape is arranged on one surface of a convex lens 4 arranged in front of the projection end of a light guide 1. The phase structure body 5 satisfies expressions I -IV. In the expression, phi is a phase difference given by the phase structure body to the mean wavelength of light guide projection light and NA' is Sintheta when the light guide side angle of luminous flux passed through one phase part is 2theta; and delta is the mean gap between fibers of the light guide and R is the area ratio of the part where there is a phase part and the part with no phase part.
