<p>Compressed wood panels (1), such as table tops, covering panels for large electrical appliances or the like having a panel part (2) and a thermoplastic edging (8) which is sprayed under pressure onto its cut surfaces (11) are known in the most varied and largely satisfactory designs. One problem of the panel parts (2) lies in the fact that, especially if they have a large surface, they are not resistant to twisting and distortion, which is not achieved by the conventional edgings (8) either, with the result that even panels (1) provided with the edging may display problems in this regard. To eliminate these problems in compressed wood panels (1), provision is made for the edging (8) surrounding the panel part (2) to have a long downwardly projecting continuation (13) extending the region (12) covering the cut surfaces (11) and for an upper outer edge (16) of the panel part (2) to be overlapped by a thick material accumulation (17) of the plastic. <IMAGE></p> |
