PURPOSE:To certainly release a liquid pressure control valve from operation to simplify the constitution of a master cylinder by making a piston to engage the liquid pressure control valve when the master cylider piston is displaced over the preset amount of stroke during failure of one system brake circuit. CONSTITUTION:A liquid pressure control valve 16 is screwed to the discharge port of the compression chamber at the side wall of a master cylinder body 1. The needle 24 of the liquid pressure control valve 16 is equipped with an engage part 26 in one body and the end of the engage part 26 is projected into the compression chamber. On the other hand, on the end of a master cylinder piston, a needle operation release section 27 is provided. And when the piston is displaced over the preset amount of stroke during failure of the brake circuit of the front wheel side, the said needle operation release section 27 engages to the said engage part 26. This engagement rotates the needle 24 to separate it from a valve seat 23. As a result, since the compression chamber and the brake of the rear wheel maintain mutual connection constantly, liquid pressure control is not performed. |
