PURPOSE:To prevent a head from being damaged by external force, such as shock, vibration, etc., by providing a lever which is rotatable within a fixed rotating angle around a fixed shaft and an elastic body which rotationally returns the lever in the medium discharging direction. CONSTITUTION:A head protecting mechanism is provided with a lever 12 which is rotatable around a fixed shaft 11 and an elastic body 13 which rotationally returns the lever 12 in the medium 1 discharging direction. If a medium 1 is discharged after bringing up a bridge 4 by means of a rotating mechanism 6 and rotation transmitting mechanism 7 when the medium 1 is discharged, the lever 12 returns to a prescribed position by utilizing the rotation of the elastic body 13. Since the inhibiting section 12B of the lever 12 gets into the section below the bridge 4, the descending movement of the bridge 4 is inhibited and, as a result, the descending movement of a head is inhibitied by the engaging section of the bridge 4. Therefore, the head can be protected from being damaged by external force, such as shock, vibration, etc. |
